Encrypted Domain Locking

With secureSWF, you can specify a number of domains or locations for your Flash applications to launch from. This will ensure that your Flash application will not load if it is being launched offline or from another website. If someone managed to copy your SWF files somewhere else, then the application will not work at all.

What makes this feature powerful enough to rely on is that the domains that you have locked the application to are encrypted inside the SWF files and will only be decrypted at runtime. This makes finding out what is happening, and changing it, a very time and effort consuming task to a level that recreating the application from scratch is usually easier.

Encrypted Loader Creator

Using secureSWF to create an encrypted loader will highly reduce the chances of having your SWF files downloaded. It simply creates a new SWF file which dynamically loads your original SWF file into it.

Furthermore, encrypting the name and location of the original SWF file, increases the power and reliability of this feature. You can also change the extension of the original SWF file into any random string (i.e. .mp3 or .js). This will make finding the original SWF file in the browser cache much harder. The goal of using this feature is to prevent attackers from using the widely available so-called SWF rippers or grabbers. These tools will no longer be able to download the original SWF file at all.
